Smart Trac UG2 launch: three markets, three CEOs, one transition built with AI

Tractian launched the Smart Trac UG2, its newest and most powerful sensor, with a global film on a very tight timeline.

The shoot used real software screens on set instead of green screens, so it depended on the product team, and on the copywriting team for the final scripts.

Three markets, three versions: the US, Mexico and Brazil, each hosted by a different company CEO. The goal was one film that spoke to each market and shipped on schedule.

Pre-production and direction

I co-led the project and owned the technical and visual direction: the art elements on set, the overall look and the cinematography. I was the main link to the partner production company.

On-set direction

I directed the two-day shoot and its three versions, one for each CEO and market.

Applied AI for one transition

One shot needed the sensor to leave the CEO's hand and become a 3D animation. By hand, it was estimated at 20 days. I built an AI setup that produced the same transition in about an hour and kept it consistent across all three videos.

One edit as the template

I edited the US version first to lock the pacing, music and motion graphics style. It became the template for the Mexico and Brazil versions.

Color across two shooting days

Different environments and lighting meant the three videos did not match. I fixed the color across all of them.

The film was delivered on schedule in all three versions and approved quickly by company leaders and the CEOs.

The AI setup replaced a 20-day estimate with about an hour of work.
